毫无疑问,我们已经迎来了传播过剩时代。从传统的媒体,如广播、电视、报刊,到新兴的媒体,如互联网、手机短信等,每天都在对受众进行着密集的信息轰炸。更为突出的是,传播手段的现代化、多样化已经使人们感到无所适从:几十个卫星电视频道在遥控器上来回切换,动辄四五十版的报纸看酸了人们的眼睛。相对而言,人们对于信息的易得使得人们的注意力成为了稀缺资源。
There is no doubt that we have ushered in the era of excess communication. From the traditional media, such as radio, television, newspapers and periodicals, to emerging media such as the Internet and mobile phone text messages, there is a daily bombardment of the audience with intense information. What is even more prominent is that the modernization and diversification of means of communication have made people feel overwhelmed: dozens of satellite TV channels are switched back and forth on the remote control, and newspapers in the 40s and 50s often sour people’s eyes. In contrast, people’s attention to the ease of getting information has become a scarce resource.
