2002年12月27日,江苏三阳河、潼河、宝应站工程和山东济平干渠工程开工,标志南水北调工程正式动工。目前,南水北调东线主体工程开工建设在即, 工程建设中的文物保护问题业已引起有关部门和社会各界的广泛关注。东线工程是在现有的江苏省江水北调工程、京杭运河航道工程和治准工程的基础上,扩大规模和向北延伸．从江苏省江都抽水站和即将兴建的宝应站抽江引水,利用京杭大运河及与其平行的河道为输水干线和分干线,逐级提水北送,并连通作为调蓄水库的洪泽湖、骆马湖、南四湖、东平湖,在山东省微山附近通过隧洞穿过黄河后自流到天津。
On December 27, 2002, the projects of Sanyang River, Tonghe River and Baoying Station in Jiangsu Province and the main channel project of Jiping in Shandong Province started, marking the formal start of the South-North Water Diversion Project. At present, the main project of the east route of South-to-North Water Diversion Project is under construction and the protection of cultural relics in the construction of the project has drawn wide attention from relevant departments and various circles in the society. The east line project is to expand the scale and extend to the north on the basis of the existing project of Jiang Shui North Water Diversion Project, Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal waterway project and regulation and control project. From the Jiangdu Pumping Station in Jiangsu Province and the upcoming Baoying Station, draw water from the Su River and use the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and its parallel river as the water main line and sub-mainline to lift water northward and connect Hongze Lake , Luoma Lake, Nansi Lake and Dongping Lake flowed through the Yellow River from Weishan, Shandong Province, to Tianjin.
