王海鸰编剧、沈严导演的电视剧《中国式离婚》2004年9月在多家电视台的黄金时段热播,引起了极大反响,被称为《围城》的现代版。这部电视剧主要讲述了中国主流的婚姻状态。通过三对夫妻的婚姻生活,向人们展示了中国婚姻中的三种背叛:身体的背叛(刘东北对娟子)、心灵的背叛(宋建平对林小枫)和身心的背叛(肖莉的丈夫对肖莉)。尤其剧中林小枫和宋建平的婚姻生活让人感受到的是残酷的真实与真实的残酷。两个都想过好的好人,却偏偏过不好,吵吵闹闹以至于打得头破血流、声名扫地。在他们的婚姻中,编剧强调的是:婚外情不一定是婚姻杀手,婚姻的杀手是婚姻中的自己。于是在剧中我们看到了一个因敏感而变得疯疯癫癫、歇斯底里的女人林小枫和一个筋疲力尽、满脸无奈的男人宋建平,他们也分别成为了没有第三者的婚姻解体的代名词。看着剧中打扮得灰扑扑的,动不动就黑口黑脸,对丈夫横挑鼻子竖挑眼的中年女人林小枫,听着来自现实对她的指责,让很多的男人感到心灵的抚慰,几乎异口同声地说,终于有人替男人说听了。但我认为,作品的意义远非如此,如果我们看看整个电视剧叙事过程中的话语空间也许更能理解它的深刻含义。
