本次非典型肺炎疫情概括起来有以下几个特征:发病时间是在呼吸道传染病容易高发的冬、春季节;临床上一般有持续发热,干咳,少部分病人出现呼吸困难,在症状和体征以及实验室检查上不同于典型肺炎;以近距离呼吸道飞沫传播为主。
