目前国内智能小区的宽带建设正谨慎地加大步伐,在宽带建设的带动下,在线游戏、视频点播、远程医疗、远程教学、内容更丰富的电子邮件以及网上购物等宽带应用如同一个巨大的金矿吸引着各类网络服务供应商。宽带应用的逐步深入首先对原有的网络计费模式产生了巨大的冲击,丰富的网络内容、巨大的数据流量使得窄带环境下的粗放包月制和按时计费方式已经不能满足实际的应用需求。尤其对于以LAN方式接入的智能小区,计费系统不但需要对用户接入Internet的各种行为采取因地制宜的计费策略,而且是开展小区内部视频点播、社区网上购物等新业务的运营支撑系统。因此,在小区宽带接入网的组建过程中,网络计费系统必须提供可靠、准确、安全和灵活的服务。因此具备电信级高可靠性,能够集准确的计费和安全的认证为一体的小区宽带计费系统的应用已是势在必行。
