Health is the first element of people’s livelihood and it is the eternal pursuit of mankind. Medical security is an important guarantee for maintaining national health. Only by providing basic medical insurance for farmers can we effectively curb the poverty of rural residents due to illness, return to poverty due to illness, and realize the social goal of health care for all. This article takes the rural and village medical and health institutions in the four districts and counties in the southern mountainous area of Ningxia as the research object, focusing on the basic health status of rural cooperative medical care, the structure of medical personnel, service status, fund raising, use management, and existence.
