吸气剂在He-Ne激光管的制作中已被广泛应用,它的作用是——当吸气剂蒸散后使管内的真空度提高1~2个数量级。同时吸附使用过程中管内放出的各种杂气,使激光管正常工作。我们知道,激光管的制造不可能使管子去气很彻底,充气时不可避免地会带进去一些杂气,特别是使用过程中电极、管壁以及粘结剂还不断放出杂质气体。这些杂气往往是H_2、O_2、CO、CO_2、N_2、甲烷等。其后果是使输出功率下降,寿命降低。目前常用的吸气剂(如钡类)对上述杂气吸附能力较强,而对He-Ne等惰性气体吸附能力较差。利用这一点在管中放入吸气剂对提高激光器寿命是完全必要的。但是一般要用高频电炉加热进行蒸散,操作不方便,成本也较高。我们从真空系统中的钛泵得到启示,在激光管中加钛泵用以代替吸气剂。
Getters have been widely used in the manufacture of He-Ne laser tubes. Their function is to increase the degree of vacuum in the tubes by one to two orders of magnitude when the getters evaporate. At the same time, the use of various types of gas released during the use of the tube, the laser tube to work properly. We know that the laser tube manufacturing can not make the tube to a very thorough degassing, inflation will inevitably bring some of the gas, especially the use of the electrode, the wall and the binder also continue to release impurity gases. These miscellaneous gases are often H_2, O_2, CO, CO_2, N_2, methane and so on. The consequence is a decrease in output power and reduced life expectancy. Currently commonly used getters (such as barium) strong adsorption of these gases, while the inert gas such as He-Ne adsorption capacity is poor. It is absolutely necessary to use a getter in the tube to improve laser lifetime. However, the general use of high-frequency electric furnace for evaporative heating, inconvenient operation, the cost is higher. We got a glimpse of the titanium pump in the vacuum system, adding a titanium pump to the laser tube to replace the getter.
