The formulations of traditional Chinese medicine include pills, creams, powders, tablets, troche, soup, etc., but the traditional Chinese medicine has been mainly used as a decoction. As early as in the Xia and Shang dynasties, liquors and decoctions of traditional Chinese medicines were initially formed and applied. In the “Internal Classics”, there is a special discussion about the method and effect of the soup solution. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhang Zhongjing’s “Treatise on Cold,” 113 of the 95 parties had decoctions. It can be seen that the decoction of traditional Chinese medicine has a long history. Decoction has so far been the most widely used type of medicine in clinical practice in China. Although pills, powders, pastes, granules, alcohol, etc. also occupy a very important position in the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, they can never replace the position of decoction and drink. Decoction has become an important part of Chinese medicine culture
