日本三菱重工业公司1983年3月22日宣布,该公司已研制出大型的三维振动台。这个振动台是世界上第一台可以上下、左右、前后同时振动的装置。其特点是能象实际地震一样晃动,并能人为地制造烈度为Ⅵ度(日本气象厅烈度标度)的大地震。该公司将这一振动台安装在具有核发电成套设备的工厂和高砂制作所的高砂研究所内,进行本公司产品的抗震试验。还将提供给核发电和土木建筑部门。由于该三维振动台起振后会产生不必要的旋转运动,控制起来比二维振动台等困难,为此,三菱重工业公司研制出用电子计算机进行
