西田认为除客观世界的逻辑之外还应有更深刻的主观世界的逻辑。为此他创立了“绝对无”的逻辑。西田为求得深藏于东方文化根底中的“见无形之形 ,闻无声之声之物”。因此 ,在无的逻辑之中 ,努力丢弃一切物的根底中所能见到之物 ,把一切物升入无的场所 ,进一步升入绝对无的场所之中 ,把物全部解消掉。西田认为 ,绝对无的世界是完全超越了我的概念、语言、思虑、知识的立场的神秘的直观世界 ,就是自由的睿智界 Nishida believes that in addition to the logic of the objective world there should be a deeper logic of the subjective world.
