Gum production potential of plastic depends mainly on two factors, one is the biosynthesis rate of rubber, and the other is the rate and duration of gum removal after tapping. The former is mainly a genetic factor, which can play the most important role when nutrition and other ecological factors are in the most suitable conditions. The latter also seems to contain genetic elements, but it can be artificially altered by external causes such as stimulating or altering soil moisture conditions.
