Cadmium is a widely distributed and toxic trace metal that may cause high blood pressure and cause cardiovascular toxicity in experimental rats. The Soviet Union reported that workers exposed to cadmium oxide had a four-fold higher incidence of cardiovascular disease than non-contact cadmium workers. Acute toxicity experiments have shown that Se is the most potent antagonist of Cd when co-administered with Se. To investigate the cardiovascular toxicity of Cd and chronic or chronic rat
