三峡早期巫文化是整个中国巫教文化的重要来源,是中华民族多元文化的有机组成部分。文章着重论述了两个方面的内容:一将《山海经》文本和特殊地理地貌相结合,对发生在三峡地区的早期巫术活动进行了梳理,认为三峡早期巫文化对中国古代社会的发展做出重大贡献;二就三峡早期巫术活动进行历史分期,一是“灵山十巫”时期,一是政教合一时期,这两个时期都以“巫咸”为显著标签,都分别体现出鲜明的阶段性特征。
