Xie Bingying, a famous female writer who settled in the San Francisco Bay Area, died here on January 5 this year at the age of 93. The three female writers Xie Bingying, Su Xuelin and Xie Wanying (Bing Xin) all had their remarkable achievements after the rise of the “May 4th” New Literature Movement and their respective positions in the history of modern Chinese literature. Among the three female writers, Xie Bingying’s life experience is the most unique. She had cast a pen in her early years and participated in the Northern Expedition as a female soldier. In the 1920s, there were also not many male writers who experienced such experiences. Female writers probably only got Xie Bingying alone.
