端节,水族叫“借端”,语义为吃端、过端,与汉族的春节相似。这是居住在贵州省三都、都匀、独山、荔波等县境内绝大多数水族人民一年中最盛大的传统节日。水族有自己的历法。以小季开始为岁首(相当于汉族农历的九月),以大季收割为岁终。按水族的习俗,每年从水历12月的第一个亥日起到次年二月上旬期间(相当于农历八月下旬至十月上旬),每逢亥日或午、未日,各地区分批过端,辞旧迎新。端节的当天,是节日期间最欢乐的一天。上午,大人按惯例挨家逐户去吃庆贺的年酒,倾寨的儿童则尾随去分享馔品。每到一家,大人就把干鱼、糖食、果品等散发给孩子们。逗趣的儿童认为谁获得的馔品最多,谁最能干,来年也健康幸福。所以每分馔品,大家总是踞着脚、伸着
