本文试图对英汉两种语言中的基本颜色词的含义及其文化差异进行对比研究。主要对比他们的基本结构、本意及引申义。文中虽然只分析了六种颜色,但从中可以看出,颜色词的共性和由于文化差异所产生的个性。同时,通过相当数量的翻译实例,探讨了颜色词的译法并阐述了深入了解颜色词文化内涵在翻译和中外文化交流中的重要作用。
This article attempts to compare the meanings and cultural differences of basic color terms in English and Chinese. The main comparison of their basic structure, meaning and extended meaning. Although only six colors are analyzed in the text, we can see that the commonness of color words and the personality caused by cultural differences. At the same time, through a considerable number of translation examples, this paper explores the translation of color words and expounds the important role of the connotation of color words in the translation and exchange of Chinese and foreign cultures.
