清何萱《韵史》欲综文字形音义三者一以贯之,与朱骏声《说文通训定声》同时而著书旨趣相近。限于时代,何萱对音韵学的理解可以补苴之处颇多。然何氏不墨守《说文》成规,在体例上“参用今音条贯”,对等韵、反切切及声调之发展均有其独特之见解。其音韵学体系并非元明以来之北音系统,而是“根源于秦兴方音”,因而对研究十八世纪之通秦方言及其历史发展有着重要意义。
Qing He Xuan “rhyme history” to be comprehensive text sound and meaning three consistent, and Zhu Jun Sheng “Shuo Wen Tong Xun Ting sound” at the same time and the purpose of the book is similar. Limited to the times, He Xuan phonological understanding can complement a lot of places. However, Ho did not stick to the theory of “speaking the text”, in the way of “using the present tone consistent”, the opposite rhyme, anti-tangent and tone development have their own unique insights. Its phonological system is not the north sound system since Yuan and Ming Dynasties, but “rooted in Qin Xing Fang Yin.” Therefore, it is of great significance to study the Tong Qin dialect and its historical development in the 18th century.
