Objective To investigate the effects of age, gross motor function grading (GMFCS) and intelligence level on the recovery of gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy. Methods A total of 138 children with cerebral palsy who received rehabilitation therapy for 12 months were enrolled in this study. Gross motor function (GMFM) test was performed before and after treatment. The progress score was compared with those of children with cerebral palsy, GMFCS level and intelligence One-way ANOVA was performed at the level. Results The differences of GMFM scores between children with cerebral palsy at different ages, different GMFCS levels and different intelligence levels before and after rehabilitation were statistically significant (P <0.01). The younger, the lower the GMFCS level and the higher the intelligence level, The higher the GMFM increase score. Conclusion The age, GMFCS grade and intelligence level of children with cerebral palsy have an effect on their rehabilitation of gross motor function.
