Before Wong Kar-wai’s film Mood for Love was released, my knowledge of Cambodia’s ancient and mystical kingdom was limited to the introduction of a few words in high school geography textbooks. There is also a report on the Khmer Rouge by television and radio in the late mid-20th century. It gives me more impression of poverty, war and bloodyness. Even today, I believe many people also believe there are landmines everywhere, full of danger. So, shortly after New Year’s Day, when a friend said he was going to make a short trip to Cambodia, I could not help joking with her and carefully taking the mine. She smiled, not so horrible it. When thousands of households are busy buying New Year’s goods for the Spring Festival, Spring Festival Drums sold in West Street booming, friends in the end or returned in peace. Not long after her return, a riot broke out in Phnom Penh due to a joke about a popular Thai actress about Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Having a phone call with my friend, I learned that in the bag she came back for her long-awaited journey, what was so precious was a thick picture of the journey of all five of her. She told me that they left the footage more to the ruins of Angkor and listened to her on the phone
