王重民先生编于一九三四——一九三八年、出版于一九六二年的《伯希和劫经录》,著录伯.三八九八残卷时,对于作者因不明而未予著录,对于篇名拟定为《持诵<法华经>灵验记》,此后一九八一——一九八五年台湾新文丰出版公司影印出版的黄永武先生主编的《敦煌宝藏》沿袭王录,也将伯.三信九八写卷拟名为《持诵<法华经>灵验记》。但笔者在研读敦煌遗书过程中发现,王、黄二先生对伯.三八九八写卷内容按断有误,对其出处及作者不察,上述拟名实为不当。经过一番考察,笔者断定:伯.三八九八写卷实为唐释道宣《集神州三宝感通
