NASA held a meeting to discuss the new operation, training and inspection procedures for the installation of heat-shielding tiles on the space shuttle orbiter. It is believed that the damaged adhesive is limited to those heat-shielding tiles that are mounted on a 0.09-inch thick mat-type insulation mat. Most heat shields on the tracker are mounted on a 0.16 inch thick felt pad.
