以秦都咸阳城(北区)遗址功能区的摆布情况,对西界点位置进行分析。首先否认西界在长陵火车站处,应再向西;但不会到任家嘴一线,更不会到碱滩范围。其次,根据瓮棺墓葬的差异,提出长陵车站、路家坡等地瓮棺墓葬分布区含陈爰金币出土点均属于城内边缘区。又以夯土建筑、水井、排水管道等分布情况,提出西界南段点应在长陵车站长兴村西不远处。最后根据2014年勘探得知的冶家台秦道路、宫殿区以北沟渠遗迹等材料,推断北段点当在海拔420米左右的黄家沟与路家坡之间。
