去年夏天,第八届国际中国科学史会议在德国柏林工业大学召开。经中国科学院自然科学史研究所推荐,我得到会议组织委员会希尼尔教授署名函件,邀请出席会议,并在会上宣读我的数学史论文。我原本是同中国科学院的先生们一道去参加会议的,预定经由法兰克福转乘德国汉莎航空公司飞机再去柏林。直到出发前,才从自然科学史研究所副所长王渝生博士处得知,他们最后确定飞往柏林的日期比原订时间晚一天。
Last summer, the Eighth International Conference of Chinese History of Science was held at the Technical University of Berlin in Germany. Recommended by the Institute of Natural History, Chinese Academy of Sciences, I received a signed letter from Professor Seanne of the Organizing Committee for the Conference, invited to attend the meeting and read out my maths history thesis. I was originally with the Chinese Academy of Sciences to attend the meeting with the gentlemen, scheduled to Frankfurt by Lufthansa aircraft to Berlin. It was not until the departure that Dr. Wang Yusheng, the deputy director of the Institute of Natural History learned that they had finally decided to fly to Berlin, one day after the scheduled date.
