焦循生平焦循(1763～1820年)字里堂,乳名乔庆,晚号里堂老人,江苏甘州(今扬州市)人,嘉庆六年(公元1801年)举人。清代著名乾嘉扬州学派的代表人物,经、史、历、算、声韵、训诂诸学无所不精。焦循所属的扬州北湖焦氏是诗书传世人家,据焦循自撰《北湖小志·家述》称,焦氏在明初永乐年间(1403～1424年),由其伯高祖焦明遴率族人聚处湖滨,后迁往城北涧陈霸之西,是为北湖焦氏。
