Objective To compare the levels of HbA1c, FBG and FRU in patients with chronic hepatitis B and with type 2 diabetes mellitus and patients with primary type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) Significance of glycometabolism in liver derived. Methods 111 cases of chronic hepatitis B with liver-derived diabetes mellitus and 211 cases of primary type 2 diabetes mellitus were studied. HbA1c, FBG and FRU were collected from blood samples of the above patients. Results HbA1c was significantly lower in patients with chronic hepatitis B and liver-derived diabetes mellitus than in patients with primary type 2 diabetes (P <0.05). There was no significant difference between FBG and FRU (P> 0.05). Conclusion In patients with chronic hepatitis B and liver-derived diabetes, HbA1c can not accurately reflect its blood glucose control level. Fructosamine should be tested to monitor the disease.
