At present, the economic instability has prompted companies to reconsider their costs and their investments in IT and voice systems. Technology investment in Asia Pacific slowed down obviously in 2009. According to IDC’s forecast, IT spending growth in Asia Pacific, including Japan, will fall from 9.5% to 5.8%. Naturally, as CEOs of companies focus more on key technology projects that deliver rapid return on investment, they are also increasingly under pressure to streamline their operations, cut costs and prepare themselves for the company’s future growth. However, enterprises often neglect the full utilization of voice systems while reducing costs. As a result, IT and voice systems are independent, and data communication services are separated from service applications and call services. In fact, if these barriers can be eliminated as soon as possible, companies can maximize the benefits of technology convergence.
