存现句是中英文共有的常见句式之一,对语篇构建发挥着重要作用。文章基于自建英汉平行语料库,通过检索、分析there存现句对应语料,结合源语和译语特征,从语言、认知和思维方式差异等角度对其翻译方法进行分类讨论。主要有三种:一是保留英语的句法结构,译为包含“有”、“存在”、“出现”等动词的汉语存现句;二是译为非存现句,译文虽仍包含“有”这个标识词,但源文中的“存现”含义已转换成用have表达的“拥有”之意;三是译为不含“有”这个标识词的其他主谓句,主要涉及主语、谓语的转换或增补。基于以上讨论,提出转换与增补是英语there存现句汉译的必要方法。
The existential sentence is one of the common sentences shared by both Chinese and English and plays an important role in discourse construction. Based on the self-constructed English-Chinese parallel corpus, this paper classifies and discusses the translation methods from the angles of language, cognition and ways of thinking through the retrieval and analysis of there existing corpus corresponding corpus and the combination of source language and target language. Based on the above discussion, it is proposed that the translation and addition are the necessary methods for the translation of Chinese there existing sentences.
