Guangdong is the largest toy province in the country with toy production and export accounting for 70% of the national total. The export data of Guangdong toys can basically be regarded as the “wind vane” of China’s toy exports. According to data from China Customs, the export of toys in Guangdong showed a sequential decline since the fourth quarter of last year, and the monthly export volume in October and December decreased by 9.5%, 27.9% and 4.0% respectively. In January 2009, Guangdong’s toy exports reached 855 million U.S. dollars, down 15% on a year-on-year basis. What does this data mean for the toy industry in Guangdong and the whole country? What are the factors restricting the export since 2009? How will Guangdong’s toy exporters respond positively? The hot topic of this issue is that we invite Chenghai, Shantou, Guangdong and Pearl River Delta The number of employees in some areas exporting toys and trading enterprises, combined with the actual conditions of their own enterprises, jointly discussed this topic.
