我局地质四队某矿区的矿层上部,覆盖着一层四、五百米厚的火山岩—主要为晶玻屑凝灰熔岩,结构致密完整,可钻性均在十一级左右,是一种岩石坚硬、研磨性弱的“打滑层”。在这种地层中,先后采用胎体硬度为中硬和软的、金刚石强度12000~18000公斤/平方厘米的60~#~100~#的人造金刚石孕镶钻头,效率都很低,一般钻速在0.05~0.20米/小时,最高也只达到0.40米/小时,有的钻头就是打滑不进尺。平均钻头寿命为6.34米,最高13.27米,最低1.38米,严重影响小口径钻探的效率及其经济效果。
