岳阳市档案馆于1977年成立。1983年,岳阳市由地辖市升为省辖市,档案馆也随之升级。1986年3月,岳阳地区撤销,原地区档案馆的全部档案由市档案馆接管。新建的岳阳市档案馆座落在市委、市政府机关院内,建筑面积为1500平方米,其中库房面积为900平方米。馆内共收藏各类档案、资料75137卷(册、件),排架总长度为1825.8米。其中档案有275个全宗计60750卷,各类资料13107册,各种实物档案280多件。现将其主要内容分别简介如下: 一、近代档案。主要由三部分构成:(一)民国档案。计47个全宗,1926卷(册)。
Yueyang City Archives was established in 1977. In 1983, Yueyang City was promoted to a municipality under the jurisdiction of the municipalities and the archives were also upgraded. In March 1986, the Yueyang area was revoked, and all archives of the former district archives were taken over by the Municipal Archives. The new Yueyang City Archives is located in the municipal government agency hospital, construction area of 1,500 square meters, of which warehouse area of 900 square meters. The museum has a total collection of various files, information 75137 volumes (volumes, pieces), a total length of 1825.8 meters rack. Of these, there are 275 files in total of 27,700 volumes, 13,107 volumes of various types of information, and more than 280 various kinds of physical files. Now the main contents are as follows: First, the modern archives. Mainly consists of three parts: (a) Republic of China file. Total 47 Fonds, 1926 volumes (volume).
