选择优树,是建立良种基地实现林木良种化的起点,是利用林木自然变异的有效途径。实践证明,利用经过遗传测定的优树所建立的种子园,其种子质量均有所提高,用这种种子所营造的幼林,生长迅速,木材产量可提高20%左右。根据十多年来全省各林区选优试点的经验,拟定了云杉、油松、泡桐、杨树、核桃五个树种的选优标准,通过实践再一次进行了修订,目前已在全省范围内试用,并己选出表型优树397株,这些优树通过鉴定后,将成为我省林木良种的起点,为建立良种基地准备了材料,为我省林木标准化提供了技术数据。
