Born in a village in Zhejiang Province, LI Ding was asked to read ancient books by his father who was a teacher. Since his uncle practiced Chinese medicine, he was deeply interested in medicine as a child. During study in Hua Yang School of Chinese Medicine, he learned a lot from two distinguished physicians, LIU Min-shu and YANG Shao-yin.
