The story of childhood tells the story of Adrien, a nine-year-old boy. His life did not attract much attention, but the story was set in the wake of an appalling incident in which three children were abducted en route to the corner of the street in his neighboring suburb. As a result, Adrienne’s new fear in his little soul has triggered a radical change in his growing world. This article explores the essential features of the narrative discourse model of rejection growth by interpreting this novel written in the midst of panic and suspicion, and then explores Sonia Hartnett’s transcendence of conventional growth landscape writing: The fragile nature of the observation and profound excavation.
