钢球表面强化工序安排在硬磨工序后,强化后的钢球表面硬度要求能提高1~3HRC,并要求硬度均匀。本试验结果得出强化时间与硬度值增量的近似关系式为△H=t/ct+1.45,式中,△H—硬度值增量(HRC);t—强化时间(小时);C—钢球型号系数。最佳强化时间应是球内硬度最大极差和球间硬度最大极差降到最低值时的那个时间,对≥3/8吋钢球最佳强化时间为4小时左右,<38吋球则为6小时左右。
