影响高边坡稳定性的因素主要有削坡坡率、水文地质条件、岩土体的结构特征、矿物成分的含量等;根据边坡所处的地形地貌、岩土体性状等条件,采取的高边坡防护措施包括生态措施和工程措施。其中,采用生态措施进行高边坡防护,可在短期内完全覆盖坡面,并且可以抑制边坡的侵蚀发育,减少土壤流失量,在水土保持中发挥着显著作用;根据边坡土质条件和复垦后地块的用途,可适当采用工程措施对高挖坡面进行防护,防止边坡坍塌,提高高边坡的安全性和稳定性。
