所谓器物学研究方法的约略定义,是将欲研究的器物视为史料,以制作工艺等研究象度作为基础,并结合考古学、美术史、历史学、人类学等相关学科,最终还原特定时空背景的研究方法 ~([1])。为了达到此一目的,研究者必须具有明了并统合不同学科成果的能力;而有关制作工艺的训练和掌握,更是器物学研究的重要基础,倘若使用得宜,往往是解开过往历史的钥匙。
