印度北方邦的举斯那揭罗,是佛祖释迦牟尼涅槃的地方,也是佛教四大圣地之一。每天都有来自世界各地的香客到此朝拜。特色寺庙兼作客栈举斯那揭罗原是一片荒野。1853年,英国和印度的考古学家在这里发掘出卧佛寺和大涅槃塔的遗址,通过与中国僧人法显和玄奘当年的游记进行比较后,才确定了释迦牟尼涅槃的地方。从此,许多外国佛教团体开始来这里建造寺庙,现在已经有27座。这些寺庙既是祭拜佛祖之地,也是香客们的客栈。
Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, India is where Buddha Shakyamuni was held and one of the four holy sites of Buddhism. Pilgrims from all over the world come to worship every day. Featured temple doubles as the inn that the original is a wilderness. In 1853, British and Indian archaeologists unearthed the sites of the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and the Great Nirvana Tower here. After comparing with the travelogue of the Chinese monks Fa Xian and Xuan Zang, they determined the place of Shakyamuni Nirvana. Since then, many foreign Buddhist groups began to build temples here, now has 27. These temples serve as both pilgrimages to pilgrims and pubs for pilgrims.
