The company is an advisory body engaged in optical communications technology, last month hosted a seminar on the theme of the development of optical technology by the year 2000. The company estimates that the total revenue of the worldwide fiber-optic communications market this year will be 1.34 billion U.S. dollars and is expected to reach 40 billion U.S. dollars in 15 years. During this period, the local circuit network will account for the dominant position of optical fiber communications.
