卫西琴(Alfred Westharp,1882—卒年不详),又名卫中,美籍德国人。卫西琴不仅是一位思想家、哲学家、教育家,同时也是一位音乐家。在欧洲音乐如暴风般席卷中国乃至东方的二十世纪初期,卫西琴作为一个欧洲人却极力倡导东方音乐,引起了笔者极大的兴趣。除了在德国,卫西琴在法国、英国、印度、日本、中国等国家留下了丰富的研究资料。有关卫西琴的这些研究资料,笔者目前收集到中文报纸5份、中文期刊55份、照片5份、外文资料1份,至今搜集资料工作还在继续。笔者在整理并理解其音乐思想的过程中发现,能够正确理解卫西琴的音乐思想实为
Wei Xiqin (Alfred Westharp, unknown date of death in 1882), also known as Wei Zhong, American Germans. Wei Xiqin is not only a thinker, philosopher, educator, but also a musician. In the early twentieth century, when European music swept through China and even the East, Wei Xiqin, as a European, strongly advocated oriental music and aroused great interest. Except in Germany, Wei Xiqin in France, Britain, India, Japan, China and other countries left a wealth of research information. For these study materials about Wei Xiqin, I currently collect 5 Chinese newspapers, 55 Chinese periodicals, 5 photos and 1 foreign language document. The work of collecting information so far has continued. The author in the process of sorting out and understanding of his musical thought found that the correct understanding of Wei Xiqin’s musical thinking is
