《死亡匣子》自出版后围绕它的评论便众说纷纭、莫衷一是,且贬抑多于溢美。本文并不在于要对文本进行二元对立式的优劣评价,而是从叙述层次、意识悖论和叙述伦理来厘清对该小说的认识偏差。小说多叙述层的复杂结构,以及对人物晦暗意识世界的关注增加了小说阅读的难度。小说并没有停滞在现代人存在困境和精神荒原,而是具有伦理叙事的向度,表达了小说家对美军在越南战争中集体无意识残忍的批评,以此提升了小说的立论。
Since its publication, The Deathly Hallows has been widely divided into many comments, which are neither agreeable nor derogatory. This essay does not mean to evaluate the pros and cons of binary opposition to the text, but to clarify the understanding of the novel from the narrative level, the paradox of consciousness and the narrative ethics. The complex structure of multi-story fiction, as well as the dark world consciousness of the characters increased the difficulty of reading the novel. The novel does not stop in the modern predicament and spirit wilderness, but has the dimension of ethical narration, expressing novelist’s collective criticism of the collective unconsciousness of the American troops during the Vietnam War, thus enhancing the novel’s argument.
