根据用户需求提供服务是图书馆发展的根本性潮流。以民族志方法研究用户是深度理解用户需求的有效方法,国外40多家图书馆做了相关实践,并产生了一定效果。本文通过描述上海大学图书馆运用民族志方法调查新生学术行为的过程、发现与结论,尝试将该方法在高校图书馆的运用予以本土化,同时探索图书馆服务与本校用户需求融合的途径。
Providing services based on user needs is the fundamental trend of library development. Using ethnographic methods to study users is an effective way to deeply understand the needs of users. More than 40 foreign libraries have done relevant practices and have achieved some results. This paper describes the process, findings and conclusions of the Shanghai University Library using ethnography to investigate new students’ academic behavior, attempts to localize the use of the method in university libraries and explores ways to integrate library services with the needs of our school users.
