结合育种实践论述了采用适宜剂量的60Co-γ射线辐射玉米杂交种或自交系,可从其后代中选育出符合育种目标的突变体.育种实践证明,玉米育种材料（含花粉）经辐射处理后可获得早熟、矮秆、抗病、高配合力等优良性状的突变,它是增加变异范围,扩大选择几率的一种有效手段.
