Mesoporous TiO2 nanofibers have been synthesized by a new method that combines sol-gel chemistry and electrospinning technique. The obtained mesoporous TiO2 nanofibers were characterized with scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and nitrogen adsorptiondesorption isotherms. The photocatalytic performance was evaluated by the photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B under UV light irradiation. The results show that mesoporous TiO2 nanofibers exhibit higher photocatalytic activity compared with nonporous TiO2 nanofibers.
