Ⅰ.INTRODUCTIONrnWITH the advent of low-carbon economy,there has been a growing interest in hessing renewable energy resources particularly for electricity generation.Renewable energy resources are advocated for the economic and environmental benefits.However,the operation of power network in its 130 years long and enviable history never faced challenges of current proportions.The challenges primarily originate from the need to substitute traditional non-renewable energy sources by sustainable but intermittent sources.Such intermittency has adverse effects on stability and balancing of power systems.In addition,renewable energy systems are inherently nonlinear,their parameters are often time-varying,and their dynamics usually accompany with uncertainties.In order to deal with these fundamental and practical problems,advanced control and optimization techniques become effective solutions.
