Objective To understand the survival and development of children under 7 years old in Honghe Prefecture in 10 years and to grasp the changes of children’s health and the development trend with the gap between Yunnan Province and the whole country and provide the basis for the relevant departments to formulate policies. Methods Data were collected according to the Statistics on Information Statistics of MCH Annual Report and the death monitoring program for children under 5 years old in Honghe Prefecture, and the data quality was strictly controlled. Results The mortality rate of neonates, infants and children under 5 years old in Honghe Prefecture dropped year by year from 2001 to 2010, and the indicators of health care services for all children showed an upward trend. In children under 5 years of age, the infant mortality rate was significantly higher in rural areas than in urban areas, The mortality rate, especially the rate of early neonatal mortality, is not far from rural to urban. In some townships, the child mortality rate is higher. The state’s children’s health indicators and service indicators are all at the middle level in the province. Compared with the national level, the children’s health index gap Larger, while service indicators of neonatal visits higher than the national level. Conclusion The state of child health care has been continuously developed over the past 10 years. The key indicators of child health care in the Yunnan Plan for the Development of Children (2001-2010) have been completed. Neonatal deaths, especially missing early neonatal deaths, We should strengthen the work of data verification, quality control, supervision and training. We should step up management, training, guidance and supervision over the towns, counties and cities lagging behind in work, and work according to the specific conditions in each region.
