Intravascular ultrasound imaging (IVUI) is a new method of intravascular ultrasound in the diagnosis of vascular disease. This article aims to evaluate the ability and measurement accuracy of IVUI to visualize vascular geometry and to explore IVUI characteristics of normal human blood vessels. The instrument used for the study was Diasonics IVUS ™ (TM) with a catheter diameter of 6 F and a frequency of 20 MHz. IVUI provides a realistic representation of the shape of simulated blood vessels, simulating dissection of arteries and modeling of atherosclerotic plaques.
