An all-transistorized power amplifier capable of delivering 1 kilowatt of continuous-wave power at 400 MHz has been designed and fabricated. The design of this amplifier is to parallelize many discrete transistors into one power mode and combine the output power of many modes into the desired total output power. The discrete transistor used in the amplifier is of the RCA-2N5016 type. This transistor is the best
