路易·艾黎,1897年12月2日出生于新西兰坎特布雷区斯普林菲尔德镇,1926年年底经由澳大利亚来华,从此留居中国,把一生的心血献给了中国革命和建设事业。我与他从未谋面,但他的名字在我与外国老专家们的接触中总能听到,谈论最多的就是他作为一名坚定的国际主义战士,为中国的革命和建设事业作出的突出贡献,他的名字永远和“国际主义”“工合”“培黎学校”“收养孤儿”“灾后救援”等紧密相连。我接触的外国老专家,如马海德、汉斯·米勒、爱泼斯坦、沙博理、魏璐诗、陈必弟等都曾深情地回忆起他们当年是如何遇到路易·艾黎,并在他的影响下接触马列主义和中国革命,或是在他的循循善诱下坚定了对中国的信心的难忘经历。今年是路易·艾黎诞辰120周年、来华工作90周年、逝世30周年,全国发起了多项纪念活动。我翻译了他在20世纪80年代写的一篇歌颂国际主义的文章,希望以这种方式向这位真正的国际主义战士致敬!
Louis Alley, born December 2, 1897 in Springfield, New Zealand’s Canterbury Region, came to China in late 1926 through Australia and has been living in China since, dedicating his life to Chinese revolution and construction. I never met him, but his name was always heard in my contacts with veteran foreign experts. The most talked about was that he, as a determined internationalist fighter, made prominence to the cause of revolution and construction in China Contribution, his name and “Internationalism ” “Gonghe ” “Peili school ” “adoption orphan ” “post-disaster rescue ” and so on are closely linked. Foreign experts I contacted such as Mahad, Hans Miller, Epstein, Shaberei, Wei Lu, Chen Bodi and so on all had a deep feeling of how they met Louis Alley in that year and in his Under the influence of contact with Marxism-Leninism and the Chinese revolution, or under the guidance of his perseverance has strengthened the unforgettable experience of China’s confidence. This year marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of Louis Alley, the 90th anniversary of his work in China and the thirtieth anniversary of his death. Many commemorative activities were launched nationwide. I translated an essay on internationalism he wrote in the 1980s in the hope of paying tribute to this truly internationalist warrior!
