词汇是语言的三大要素之一,是语言的基本材料。中学英语教学的目的之一就是要使学生掌握一定数量的词汇,学生掌握的词汇越多,他们运用英语的能力就会越强。一般说来,学生对词汇掌握的情况,大体上能反映出学生的英语水平,就目前初中生学习英语的现状来看,掌握词汇不足已成为学生学习英语的绊脚石,不少学生英语学习掉队,甚至完全放弃英语学习,其中一个重要原因就是不能牢固地记忆所学过的词汇。
Vocabulary is one of the three major elements of language and is the basic material of language. One of the purposes of English teaching in middle schools is to enable students to master a certain number of vocabularies. The more vocabulary students have, the stronger their ability to use English. Generally speaking, students’ mastery of vocabulary can generally reflect the students’ English proficiency. From the current situation of junior high school students learning English, the lack of vocabulary has become a stumbling block for students to learn English. Many students are left behind in English learning. One of the most important reasons for abandoning English learning altogether is that you cannot memorize the vocabulary you have learned.
