In this paper, some basic concepts and methods of LAN fault diagnosis are provided, focusing on fault diagnosis of Ethernet and enumerating the fault diagnosis techniques and tools that can be used to isolate Ethernet problems. This article lists some of the issues typically encountered in Ethernet systems and explains how to avoid them. Describes frame statistics and how to get these numbers from the Ethernet system. Finally, a brief description of high-level agreement analysis is presented; some of the ways in which high-level agreements are analyzed.
